Manchester United’s Squad Shake-Up: Ruben Amorim Reveals Transfer Intentions
Ruben Amorim shared his vision for Manchester United as the club considers offers for roughly half of its squad.
Recent reports indicate that United plans to offload a significant number of players over the next few transfer windows.
This strategy comes as club co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS group prepare for a major rebuild.
INEOS appears ready to empower Amorim with the task of assembling a new team, beginning with the January transfer window.
Since taking over from Erik ten Hag, the Portuguese coach has begun to reshape the team’s transfer strategy effectively.
Amorim highlighted the need to prioritize existing players and academy talents while creating a focused shortlist for new signings.
In a recent press conference, the 39-year-old stated,
“I’m really focused on seeing my players, to understand my players, and I think that is one of the problems of the club.”
He emphasized focusing on current talent and the academy while also establishing clear profiles for potential signings going forward.
“It’s a lot of details you have to manage, “Every detail counts, and you have to be very clear, first in the profiles, arrange all the processes, and then move to that phase of buying and selling players,” he explained.
Amorim acknowledged the squad’s international players’ quality while noting the time needed to implement his ideas effectively.
“This is a massive club. If you don’t win, the coach goes, the players go,” he remarked.
He stressed the need for collective improvement within the team and the organization before simply focusing on transfer activity.
“There’s a lot to do, so let’s focus on improving our players,” he concluded.
Following a series of disappointing results in the Premier League, the Red Devils are eager to return to form as they prepare to face Viktoria Plzen in a Europa League match on Thursday.
This clash presents an opportunity for Amorim to implement his strategies and begin turning the club’s fortunes around.
