Presently, there are indications that the government may have concluded plans to send a number of them packing from active service this month.

The likely affected staffs are those of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) among others.

Meanwhile, some staffs of the agencies serving at various stations across the country were redeployed to the head offices in Abuja and Lagos which seems to add credence to the rumour.

Sources at the some of these agencies have hinted that the deployment exercise was actually a deliberate plan aimed at restructuring them for optimal performance.

The exercise comes as part of efforts by the new management of the agencies and the new administration of President Muhammad Buhari to clean the rot in the oil and gas industry of corruption.
