Mid-Term: Dibiagwu Emerges Best-Performing Federal Lawmaker from Imo State

IPM CELEBRATES MID-TERM UNBEATABLE SCORECARD OF HON. EUGENE DIBIAGWU IN NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

— CROWNS DIBIAGWU “BEST PERFORMING FEDERAL LAWMAKER FROM IMO STATE”

1. Today, the Imo Progressives Movement (IPM), which stands as the most expansive and vibrant grassroots political movement in Imo State, rises in celebration its National Convener and Facilitator, Hon. Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu, as he marks two solid years of transformational representation in the House of Representatives.

As a federal lawmaker representing the great people of Ohaji-Egbema, Oguta, and Oru West Federal Constituency, Hon. Dibiagwu has not only raised the bar; he has shattered all previous limits of what is possible in legislative service.

2. ⁠Since his inauguration into the 10th National Assembly on June 13, 2023, Hon. Dibiagwu has operated with the precision of a statesman and the passion of a servant-leader.

In just two years, he has become a national reference point in effective, people-oriented representation. His governance footprint is bold, his touch indelible, and his pace unmatched.

In every town, community, and village across the three local government areas he represents, the people are witnessing a new dawn.

For us at IPM, this midterm milestone is not just a date, it is a call to loud celebration and deeper appreciation of excellence in leadership.

3. Nicknamed “The Eugene of Imo Politics”, Hon. Dibiagwu’s political mastery, unbeatable grassroots appeal, and strategic foresight have long made him a colossus in the political landscape of Imo State.

As the Founder, National Convener, and Principal Facilitator of the Imo Progressives Movement, he has built a movement that is both a political powerhouse and a platform of empowerment.

It was through this formidable IPM structure that he galvanized enormous support for the resounding re-election of Senator Hope Uzodimma as Governor of Imo State in 2023.

4. Infrastructure development, long elusive in the rural communities within his Federal Constituency, has found a worthy champion in Dibiagwu.

He has flagged off and driven to completion, and near completion, massive road construction projects across his constituency.

These include: the very strategic road connecting communities in Mgbidi (Oru West); the expansive Akabor–Awa–Oguta corridor; and the Awarra–Ochia–Ikwerrede Road in Ohaji-Egbema.

These roads are not just infrastructure, they are arteries of development, access to markets, schools, hospitals, and a new economic life for thousands of constituents.

5. Education is the key to transformation, and Hon. Dibiagwu understands this too well.

In an unprecedented gesture, he fully paid the WAEC registration fees for thousands of students across 27 secondary schools in his constituency.

This massive educational intervention has removed financial barriers to academic progression, restored the hope of the poor, and positioned an entire generation for future excellence.

6. His economic empowerment blueprint is revolutionary. Dibiagwu has empowered no fewer than 33 young constituents with fully-equipped buses, enabling them to become employers of labor through transport business startups.

With this intervention, he has created new jobs, unlocked economic value, and redefined empowerment as sustainable, not symbolic.

7. Furthermore, 45 sewing machines were distributed to skilled youths across the Federal Constituency.

These are not mere tools; they are life-changing assets that have enabled young people to become entrepreneurs, support their families, and contribute meaningfully to local development.

The tailoring industry in the constituency has received a massive boost, thanks to Dibiagwu’s strategic investments.

8. In his characteristic style of targeted empowerment, another 45 grinding machines were given out to traders and artisans, particularly women in rural markets, to enhance their income-generating capacities.

This initiative has strengthened the informal sector and provided financial stability to countless households.

9. Again, Hon. Dibiagwu empowered 37 constituents with brand-new motorcycles, thereby launching dozens into the transportation and logistics sector.

These motorcycles, beyond providing means of income, have improved movement in rural communities and linked previously inaccessible areas to centers of commerce.

10. Perhaps the most outstanding financial empowerment intervention was his distribution of ₦500,000 in cash to no fewer than 78 beneficiaries.

This is not tokenism; it is real capital injection into the grassroots economy. With these funds, numerous small-scale enterprises have been launched, expanded, and revived.

In Hon. Dibiagwu, the people have found a genuine economic liberator.

11. In a humanitarian move that has drawn widespread commendation, Dibiagwu paid ₦45 million to enroll 3,000 of his constituents into the Imo State Health Insurance Scheme.

What this means is that 3,000 vulnerable people: elderly, poor, women, and children, can now access quality healthcare without cost. Lives are being saved daily, dignity is restored, and a compassionate style of representation is taking root.

12. Legislatively, Hon. Dibiagwu has carved his name in gold. Among his many impactful bills and motions, one has stood out as groundbreaking: a constitutional amendment seeking to mandate Presidents and Governors to attach portfolios to the lists of their ministerial and commissioner nominees.

This bill, which has passed Second Reading, is receiving national acclaim for its potential to enhance transparency, reduce cronyism, and promote merit-based designation of portfolios.

13. In the green chambers of the National Assembly, Hon. Dibiagwu is not a backbencher.

He is a vocal, articulate, and visionary lawmaker whose interventions shape national discourse.

His motions address the real issues of the Niger Delta, the environment, youth unemployment, rural development, and the decentralization of governance for efficiency.

14. At the heart of his success is an unrivaled accessibility to his constituents.

He has demystified leadership, brought government to the people, and made participation a reality.
