Miss Bayelsa, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has been crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026 at the grand finale of the national beauty pageant held in Lagos.
The event took place on Friday evening at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, with 37 contestants from across Nigeria competing for the prestigious crown. The contestants underwent a week-long preparatory camp focused on leadership training, personal development, and community engagement projects.
After several rounds of competition, the field was narrowed down to 10 finalists before Karibi-George emerged winner, defeating strong contenders from Edo, Anambra, Rivers, and Abuja in the final stage. She succeeds Joy Raimi, the 2025 titleholder, who previously represented Nigeria at the Miss World pageant.
The winner was announced by Guy Murray-Bruce, Chief Operating Officer of Silverbird Group, who praised her confidence, elegance, and commitment to social impact initiatives.
As Miss World Nigeria 2026, Karibi-George will represent Nigeria at the 73rd Miss World pageant, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August 9 to September 5, 2026.
Beyond pageantry, Karibi-George is the founder of Beyond Labels, a charitable initiative focused on promoting the education, inclusion, and protection of children with special needs. She is also a former Miss Africa International titleholder, a crown she won in December 2024.
Her latest victory marks another milestone in her growing influence as both a beauty queen and advocate for social change.
