Moghalu urges PFN and Nigerians to pray for Anambra State

In a stirring message that blended faith, politics, and a heartfelt call to service, the Labour Party’s 2025 governorship candidate in Anambra State, Chief Dr. George Moghalu, has extended warm congratulations to the newly inaugurated executives of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Nnewi North chapter.

Speaking with sincerity and spiritual conviction on Sunday, June 22, 2025, Chief Moghalu urged the new PFN leaders to embrace their calling with humility and a strong sense of duty—both to humanity and to God.

“I sincerely congratulate the new PFN leadership in Nnewi,” Moghalu said.

“We must always remember: it is God who ordains leaders.

“Our quest for political office is not about ambition, it’s about surrendering to God’s divine will.

“Who leads Anambra has already been determined spiritually.

“It’s not by strength or strategy alone but by God’s mercy.”

The message, delivered shortly after the inauguration ceremony, resonated deeply with the Christian community.

This is especially with young and older believers alike who view public service as more than just politics, but as a moral responsibility.

Chief Moghalu took a moment to thank key leaders of the PFN, including Bishop Moses Ezedebego, who leads the fellowship in Anambra.

He also thanked Apostle Dr. Joe Ugwumba, Chairman of the Planning Committee for the inauguration.

He praised their unwavering dedication to building a stronger Christian foundation across the state, particularly at a time when faith communities are being looked to for hope, healing, and direction.

Describing Christian leadership as both a calling and a covenant, Moghalu emphasized that serving the church is often overlooked in worldly terms but never forgotten by God.

“It may not always come with applause or recognition, but every act of service is recorded in heaven.

“In my home, there’s a quote that keeps me grounded: ‘Power is a sacred trust placed on man by God.’

“We are stewards of the lives we influence, and everything we do, good or bad, will ultimately be judged. If not now, then in eternity.”

With the 2025 state governorship election fast approaching and rising tensions across the country, Moghalu did not shy away from discussing the pressing issue of insecurity plaguing Anambra and Nigeria at large.

His voice took a solemn tone as he appealed for spiritual intervention.

“Our land is in pain,” he said.

“Kidnappings, killings, these are becoming everyday news.

“It is only by God’s grace that we go out and return safely.

“This is why I appeal to you, to every pastor, bishop, and believer, pray for our state.

“Pray for our leaders.

“Pray that God’s will shall prevail in Anambra.”

The seasoned public servant also used the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to the faith community, promising an open-door policy to Christian leaders and institutions across Anambra.

“I will always be available to PFN and to the Church,” he said.

“Any time you need me, I’ll be there.

“I believe in the unity of the Church, and I am committed to partnering with you to bring lasting transformation to our people.

“Together, we can build a state where justice, peace, and faith go hand in hand.”

As the political atmosphere in Anambra continues to heat up, Moghalu’s message stands out for its blend of spiritual conviction and civic responsibility.

His remarks are being seen not just as campaign rhetoric, but as a heartfelt alignment with the values of the people, particularly the Christian faithful who form a powerful moral and electoral force in the region.

Whether or not Moghalu wins the race to Agu Awka, his words are already striking a chord across generations.

In a nation hungry for leadership that combines vision with virtue, this moment could well be remembered as a turning point in Anambra’s 2025 political journey.
