Mohbad Still Unburied After Nearly Three Years as Primeboy Stages Protest

Fresh controversy has erupted over the continued delay in the burial of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, as his friend and associate, Primeboy, publicly staged a protest demanding closure.

Primeboy expressed frustration that nearly three years after Mohbad’s death, the singer’s body allegedly remains in the mortuary. In a video circulating online, he questioned why the burial has been delayed for so long, suggesting that the prolonged situation is unfair to the late artist.

“Mohbad has not been buried for almost three years. His family is enjoying life, but he is still in the mortuary,” Primeboy said during the protest, visibly emotional.

Mohbad’s death in September 2023 shocked the nation and sparked widespread outrage. Public pressure led to investigations, the arrest of several individuals, and the exhumation of his body for autopsy as authorities sought clarity surrounding the circumstances of his passing. Since then, legal processes, forensic reviews, and family disputes have reportedly contributed to delays in laying him to rest.

Primeboy’s protest has reignited public debate. Some supporters agree that regardless of ongoing legal matters, the late singer deserves a proper burial and closure. Others argue that until all investigations and potential court proceedings are fully concluded, delays may be unavoidable.

The situation also reflects the emotional weight still surrounding Mohbad’s passing. His death triggered one of the largest online justice movements in Nigerian entertainment history, with fans, activists, and fellow artists demanding accountability and transparency.

As of now, Mohbad’s family has not issued a fresh statement directly responding to Primeboy’s protest. However, the renewed attention may increase pressure for updates on the legal and burial process.

For many fans, the core concern remains simple: after years of grief, controversy, and unanswered questions, they want peace for the late singer  and closure for those he left behind.
