The police in Lagos have arraigned a notorious hired killer, Wasiu Akinwande, aka Olori Eso, who has been on their wanted list for close to a decade.

Olori Eso was slammed with eleven charges on Wednesday, August 5, 2025, after he was docked at the Ogba Magistrate’s court.

Akinwande Olori Eso, 44, is believed to be responsible for numerous executions in Lagos State, especially in the Mushin area.

Some members of his past victims were in court today when he was brought in shackles and handcuffs.

The magistrate court cannot try him for his alleged offences, but he was probably arraigned there to obtain a remand order against him.

Only a High Court can try the gravity of the offences he was slammed with.

Recall that his arrest was announced in June by the state police command’s spokesman, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.

The PPRO announced that the Olori Eso was arrested during an operation code-named ‘Silence, Speed and Surprise’.

Olori Eso was reportedly apprehended in his hideout in the Agbado area of Ogun State.

Hundeyin said Olori Eso had proven highly elusive to the police for a long time, until nemesis caught up with him.

Items recovered from him include nine sophisticated firearms, lots of ammunition, magazines, a dagger, walkie-talkies and international passports.

The suspect reportedly admitted that he had used the weapons found in his residence for armed robbery, murder, cultist activities, and abductions.
