Telecoms giant, MTN, has shut all its stores and service centres across Nigeria.

This is coming after an outrage by some of its subscribers across the country after the network provider blocked their lines on Sunday.

The situation got tensed when a viral video showed an irate mob vandalizing an MTN office in FESTAC Town, Lagos.

The footage showed a large crowd of customers attacking the company’s office in protest.

In response to the unrest, Lagos State Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that local authorities had managed to restore order and calm in the affected area.

On Tuesday, MTN announced via social media that all its shops across Nigeria would remain closed for the day.

The company addressed customers with a statement, “Yello customer, please be informed that our shops nationwide will be closed today, 30th July 2024.”
