The spiritual leader of the Realm of Glory Church, Pastor Abraham Sam Aiyedogbon, has vowed that Christians will teach the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) a big lesson in the the 2023 general election over their choice of a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the presidential and vice presidential candidates respectively.
Pastor Aiyedogbon made the remarks on Tuesday during an interview on Arise TV’s The Morning Show monitored by News Band on Tuesday.
A visibly furious convener of the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Catalyst for Global Peace and Justice Initiative (CPJ), Aiyedogbon, lambasted Alhaji Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a Muslim, over his choice of the former Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Ibrahim Kashim Shettima, another Muslim, for the vice presidential candidacy.

Recall that Alhaji Tinubu had announced Alhaji Shettima as running mate after Alhaji Ibrahim Masari stepped down as his running mate.
In a letter announcing his withdrawal, Alhaji Masari informed party leaders under President Muhammadu Buhari, teeming party supporters that he won’t be running alongside Tinubu.
Reacting to the development, Pastor Aiyedogbon blasted the ruling party for “taking Christians for granted”.
He recalled that he, as well as millions of other Christians voted for President Buhari in 2015.
He also recalled that he voted for Tinubu when he contested for Lagos State governor.
The Catalyst for Global Peace and Justice Initiative convener, therefore, wondered what may have inspired his choice of a Muslim running mate in a country arguably dominated by Christians.
He enjoined Christians all over the country to vote massively for a Christian presidential candidate in 2023 even if it amounts to “wasting their votes” as it is the only weapon they have.
Aiyedogbon, however, spoke against regional partisanship, saying it will deter the growth of the country.
He added that any Christian candidate can be assured of Christians’ vote.
