My Vision Is To Breed The Next Generation Superstars – Ubah
The Nigeria born innovator and investor Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has restated his commitment towards youth empowerment by stating that his vision is to breed the next generation superstars not only from football but from other areas of sports.
Ubah who is building a $300million (USD) worth games village in Anambra State made this disclosure in faraway Egypt where FC Ifeanyi Ubah are to play against Al-Masry SC of Egypt in CAF Confederation Cup return leg this evening.
Ubah who led some of the management team of FC Ifeanyi Ubah that included the Building Engineer handling the construction of FC Ifeanyi Ubah Games Village back home, the media team of the club, the club chairman, the stadium manager of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, among others on the tour of Tolip Sports City Hotel and Spa, Cairo told his audience after seeing some young Egyptians undergoing training on the different sports facilities within the sport city arena that;
“My vision is to breed next generation superstars and we can achieve it through regular programs that will marry the academic consciousness of our people”
It is of note that Tolip Sports City has a five star Hotel, Cultural Center, Indoor Sports Halls, Swimming Pool for athletes and Amusement Park for kids.
One notable fact is that the Tolip Sports City has architectural semblance of FC Ifeanyi Ubah Games Village. Both have multiple sports facilities.
Ubah who during the tour observed that kids under 15 years old were busy practising as their coaches dished out instructions and advice while their parents kept close watch as their wards grew mentally.
It is of note that while some kids were busy with their coaches on area of football, others were equally busy with their coaches on area of table tennis, among others. Ubah went on to add that;
“This is in conformity with my vision back home.
“My vision is to identify and nurture young ones to superstar status and what I am seeing here in Egypt is enough motivation to me,” he asserted.
Ubah would always draw the attention of the FC Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium site Engineer, Engr. Arinze Akoh to any new innovations he observed from the Sport City and the Engineer would take notes and sometimes made sketches for reference sake as it concerns the ongoing FC Ifeanyi Ubah Games Village in Nnewi/Ozubulu, Anambra State, Nigeria.
The football entrepreneur Dr. Ubah went on to tell those that were with him that most of them would not have been with him in Egypt save for the fact that they needed to learn one or two things from the success story of Egypt’s sports development so that we can replicate and best apply the lessons to our quest for success back home.
“We are here not only to play football but to learn more from the host people and their facilities, so that we can continue to improve on ours back home.
“Some of you here are with me for the purpose of learning from those that are doing better and coming back with what you have learnt and seeing how we can add it to what we are doing back home is a task that we must undertake,” he said.
Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah while touring the Torip Sports City, played some of the indoor sports games with some members of the delegation.
Ubah who was a former goalkeeper enjoyed himself with some display of table tennis artistry by playing and defeating any member of the delegation that came his way as an opponent in a table tennis engagement during the tour of the sports city.
Al-Masry SC later in the evening played FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the second leg of CAF Confederation CUP with the home side winning 3-0 by penalty shootout after a 1-1 goal aggregate.
The Anambra State-based team had defeated Egyptian’s A-Masry SH one goal to nil (1-0) in the first leg last Sunday in Nnewi/Ozubulu, Anambra State.
