Nigerian content creator and streamer Peller has revealed that the emotional moment that went viral during his white wedding to Jarvis was not entirely spontaneous.
Peller made the revelation while speaking during a recent livestream, explaining that his wife, Jarvis, had asked him to shed tears during the ceremony.
The moment had attracted widespread attention after Peller appeared emotional as Jarvis made her entrance at their wedding in Lagos. However, according to the newlywed, the tears were largely a gesture meant to satisfy his wife and her family.
“It’s my wife that asked me to shed those fake tears. There was nothing emotional about my wedding,” Peller reportedly said.
He explained that the wedding was not the beginning of their life together because he and Jarvis had already been living together as husband and wife before officially getting married.
According to Peller, the couple’s decision to formalise their relationship was partly influenced by Jarvis’ family, who had previously objected to her living with him before marriage.
“Me and Jarvis have been living as husband and wife before we even got married, so we got married just to put it out there that we’re married,” he said.
He added that Jarvis’ family wanted the couple to be officially married before accepting their living arrangement, making the wedding an important step in gaining their approval.
“At some point her family didn’t want her to live with me until marriage,” Peller explained.
The revelation has given fans a different perspective on the emotional wedding footage that circulated online. What many viewers initially interpreted as an unscripted display of overwhelming emotion now appears, according to Peller’s account, to have been partly staged at his wife’s request.
