N9b fraud: Ex-Ag Governor Umaru Fintiri granted bail

Court remands ex-Adamawa Acting Governor, Fintiri for fraud

Former Acting Governor of Adamawa state, Umaru Fintiri, was, on Friday, granted bail by the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Fintiri was remanded in prison custody yesterday by Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the FCT High Court.

Fintiri is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] on a five count charge of money laundering to the tune of N2. 9 billion. 

The bail conditions include : N500 million with two sureties in like sum. 

He is also to submit his international passport.

The judge however asked that he remain in prison custody pending satisfaction of bail conditions.
