NAF loses helicopter handed over by Buhari in Makurdi

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has lost one of the Agusta Westland 101 helicopters handed over to it recently by President Muhammadu Buhari recently.

The accident reportedly occurred on the tarmac at 33 Logistics Group, Makurdi. 

Spokesman for the Air Force, Group Captain, Ayodele Famuyiwa gave the clarification to the incident.

Famuyiwa explained that contrary to circulated reports, the mishap occurred while the helicopter was taxing after a successful mission.

He said the unfortunate incident happened last week on the tarmac at 33 Logistics Group, Makurdi.

According to him, NAF has since set-up a board of officers to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the incident.

The Seven-man board is headed by Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Anebi.

He said that details of the investigation would be communicated to the public as soon as the Board concludes its assignment.
