NAFCONS pioneers air mobile first aid training, calls for National adoption

Kaduna, Nigeria – The Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing Sciences (NAFCONS) has launched Nigeria’s first “Air Mobile First Aid” training program, revolutionizing emergency healthcare education.

Consequently, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, urges the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) to adopt this program nationwide.

During the April 11, 2025 matriculation ceremony for National Diploma I (Set 6) students at NAF Base Kaduna, Air Vice Marshal Anthony Ekpe, representing the CAS, emphasized the program’s impact.

Specifically, it focuses on aeromedical evacuation, rapid response in high-risk environments, and military-aerospace nursing skills, thereby strengthening Nigeria’s emergency healthcare system.

Air Marshal Abubakar praised NAFCONS for producing skilled, compassionate, and innovative healthcare professionals. Moreover, he highlighted the college’s role in elevating healthcare standards and promoting civil-military collaboration for national progress.

Squadron Leader Boyi Elisha, NAFCONS Commandant, thanked the CAS, CMS, NMCN, and NBTE for their consistent support. Notably, 120 students—the largest intake in the college’s history—took the matriculation oath, demonstrating the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to education and healthcare excellence.
