NASAA Tackles INEC, Alleges Hidden Agenda Against ADC

(DDM) – The National and State Assembly Aspirants (NASAA) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission of undermining democracy over its stance on the leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) learned that NASAA strongly condemned INEC’s reported refusal to recognise the leadership of David Mark within the party.

NASAA described the development as a serious threat to Nigeria’s democratic system, warning that it could signal a dangerous shift toward a one-party state.

According to the statement, the situation reflects what it termed “dictatorship in disguise,” raising concerns about the independence and neutrality of key institutions.

The group further alleged that the actions of INEC may be influenced by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It argued that recent political developments, including growing support for the ADC, may have triggered attempts to weaken opposition forces.

The forum pointed to increasing political alignments and defections as evidence that the ADC is gaining traction nationwide.

It specifically referenced the involvement of prominent figures such as Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in ongoing political realignments.

According to NASAA, the timing of INEC’s position raises questions about possible political motives behind the decision.

The group accused the ruling establishment of attempting to suppress opposition rather than addressing critical governance challenges facing the country.

It also expressed concern that despite controlling several state governments and key national institutions, the ruling party still appears politically insecure.

The statement criticised what it described as a lack of meaningful impact on the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

It warned that efforts to dominate the political space could erode democratic values and limit political competition.

NASAA called on Nigerians to remain vigilant and defend the principles of multiparty democracy.

It urged citizens not to allow any actions that could undermine the country’s democratic foundation.

Members of the ADC and other stakeholders were also encouraged to stay united and committed to the party’s vision.

The group maintained that the ADC represents a credible alternative capable of repositioning the country.

It concluded by calling for the preservation of democratic space, insisting that Nigerians must be allowed to freely participate in the political process.

The statement was signed by National Chairman Hon. Sunday Edegbe, Secretary Hon. Kabeer Ahmad Yola, and Spokesperson Comrade Daniel Ezekiel.
