Nasarawa’s AG Danladi Backs Kwara United ahead of President Federation Cup Final

Ilorin, Nigeria – June 23, 2025 — The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Nasarawa State, Barr. Isaac Danladi, has thrown his weight behind Kwara United FC ahead of their much-anticipated clash against Abakaliki FC in the final of the 2025 President Federation Cup. The showdown is set for Saturday, June 28, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
Barr. Danladi, who is in Ilorin for a Roundtable Engagement of Attorneys-General of North Central States, expressed his unwavering support during a special reception in his honour, hosted by his longtime associate and Director of Football, ABS FC, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka.
Speaking passionately, Danladi declared his belief that Kwara United would lift the coveted trophy in their first-ever appearance in the competition’s final.
The former chairman of Nasarawa United described the upcoming final as a golden opportunity for the North Central region, noting that both Kwara United and Nasarawa Amazons—finalists in the men’s and women’s categories respectively—could deliver a historic double for the region.
“I believe both teams will bring glory to the North Central,” he said, adding that he would be present in Lagos to cheer Kwara United to victory.
Danladi commended the harmony and unity he witnessed among Kwara’s football stakeholders at the event, pointing to the camaraderie between past and present club officials.
“This unity is why I left a gathering of big men just to be here. It shows Kwara is indeed the state of harmony,” he remarked, urging continued collaboration for sporting success.
He also praised the synergy between the governors of Kwara and Nasarawa states, calling their leadership a reflection of the potential within the region.
“With our governors leading at the national and regional levels, their unity should inspire us all,” Danladi added.
Overwhelmed by the goodwill shown to him during the reception, Danladi pledged unwavering loyalty to his colleagues and supporters.
“Every office I occupy is for you all. Call me anytime and I will answer. That is a promise,” he said, fighting back tears of gratitude.
The reception at Henry George Hotel, Ilorin, drew notable figures from Kwara’s sporting and political circles, including former and current officials of Kwara United FC, sports journalists, football administrators, and community leaders.
