The Nigerian Navy’s Chief of Operations, Rear Admiral Musa Katagum, has passed away after a protracted illness.
He was a highly respected senior officer and former Chief of Naval Intelligence, known for his pivotal role in the Navy’s recent operational achievements.
While confirming the development, Director of Naval Information (DINFO), Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, described the late officer as a committed professional whose service record reflected dedication and strategic impact on national security.
“Throughout his distinguished service in the Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral Katagum demonstrated exemplary leadership, strategic insight and unwavering loyalty to the ideals and mission of the Nigerian Navy. His legacy will remain a source of inspiration to all personnel across the services.
“The Nigerian Navy extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and associates during this difficult time. Rear Admiral Katagum passed away following a protracted illness and has since been buried according to Islamic rites. May his soul rest in peace,” he added.
