NDDC Honours Ex-MD Nsima Ekere For Outstanding Contributions

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) celebrated its 25th anniversary with a grand finale at the EUI Events Center in Port Harcourt, capping off a week-long series of events to mark the milestone.

The ceremony brought together key stakeholders, government officials, and development partners to reflect on the commission’s achievements and challenges over the past quarter-century.

Among the highlights of the event was the recognition of former NDDC Managing Director, Obong Nsima Ekere, for his outstanding impact on the Niger Delta region during his tenure.

Ekere, who served as the commission’s MD from 2016 to 2018, was lauded for his efforts in advancing infrastructure, human capital development, and sustainable projects across the oil-rich region. His leadership was also credited with fostering partnerships and initiatives that enhanced the NDDC’s mandate of driving socio-economic growth in the Niger Delta.

In his remarks, the current NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku reiterated the Commission’s commitment to addressing the developmental needs of the region while acknowledging the contributions of past leaders like Ekere.
