The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Shodunke Yetunde Simbiat, a 39-year-old woman suspected to be a key member of a cocaine trafficking network in Lagos and Ogun states.
The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued by the spokesman of the anti-narcotic agency, Mr. Babafemi.
He said Simbiat was identified as the syndicate’s stash keeper, and cocaine worth N5 billion was discovered hidden in her children’s room at her Surulere, Lagos residence on December 9, 2025.
The arrest comes 20 months after NDLEA operatives dismantled the syndicate, recovering 57.5 kilograms of cocaine from a couple, Bolanle Lookman Dauda and Olayinka Toheebat Dauda, who were apprehended at Ibiye along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway while attempting to transport cocaine to Ghana.
