Netanyahu Rejects US Calls For Palestinian State After Gaza War

US demands that Israel halt its military assault in the Gaza Strip or create a post-war Palestinian state have been turned down by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

One day after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken declared that Israel will never have “genuine security” without a route toward Palestinian autonomy, Mr. Netanyahu restated his long-standing opposition to a two-state solution in a nationally televised news conference.

An autonomous, unoccupied state of Palestine would be positioned alongside the state of Israel, west of the Jordan River, according to the two-state solution.

However, Mr. Netanyahu rejected the notion, warning reporters that an independent Palestinian state would serve as a springboard for assaults against Israel.

“Israel needs security control (over) all territory west of the Jordan in any future arrangement,” he declared.

This contradicts the notion of sovereignty. How are you able to help?

He continued, “I put an end to attempts to force us into a reality that would jeopardize the state of Israel and I tell this truth to our American friends.”

The White House immediately responded to the remarks.

National security spokesperson for the White House John Kirby stated, “We obviously see it differently.” “Gaza will not be reoccupied; there will be a post-conflict Gaza,” he stated.
