Ngige to Obiano: Start writing your handover notes now
*Declares APC will take over Anambra next year
Former governor of Anambra state and incumbent Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen Chris Ngige has called on Gov Willie Obiano to start in earnest to write his handover notes, as the All Progressives Congress will take over power next year in the state.
He premised his optimism on what he saw as abysmal performance of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) under Obiano and his predecessor, Mr Peter Obi, that fell far below the expectation of electorates.
The Minister who addressed journalists in Alor, Idemili South LGA of the state, said it was indeed necessary the APC take over the state to continue all the people-oriented programmes he (Ngige) started in 2003 all of which have endured till date.
He admitted it was too early and hence premature to broach the issue of the guber election for the state expected late next year now.
But was merely counseling the APGA leadership on the very glaring realities.
Though he could not assert of his likely participation in the 2017 governorship contest in the state, he pointed out that he defeated ex-governor Obi in the 2010 governorship poll in the state but was rigged out.
“I won in 16 local government areas out of the 21 LGAs of the state.
The man who rigged that election has apologized to me”, Ngige said.
He said: “APC will be in serious contention for the office of governor next year because we are determined to take over the Government House.
“He said his legacies and that of the Federal Government under the APC would attest to his party’s commitment to the welfare of the citizens at all levels.
Hear him, “Before then, the marshal plan APC has for Nigeria would have been on ground properly as we believe that will help us during the campaigns…
The roads he built, he noted are all still standing firm, but those of Obi and Obiano have failed and collapsed completely, after just some months in existence.
He therefore urged Obiano to commence his handover notes at once.
