….Vows to mobilize young people for good governance in Imo

The Coalition of Imo State Young Leaders Initiative has unanimously elected Mazi Franklin Ngoforo as its President. This decision, which was premised on Ngoforo’s contributions to good governance and rich record in service delivery, was taken during a meeting of the group in Owerri on Sunday.

The coalition brings together all young outstanding entrepreneurs in Imo who have made their marks in various fields of endeavor with an objective of ensuring that social progress and economic development realized through better governance are brought to Imo state.

Speaking shortly after his emergence, the accomplished real estate giant decried the deplorable condition of things in Imo, stating that it behooves young people to rise and lead the way.

According to him, Imo has been so badly managed in recent years chiefly because young people have remained rather uninterested in the affairs of the state. He added that young leaders have always been in the vanguard of effecting positive change in all progressive societies, and enthused that with the Coalition of Imo Young Leaders Initiative, the yearning of the state for intervention has come to fruition.

“From Ideato, where I come from, to all other parts of the state, the bane of Imo remains poor political representation and bad governance. The time has come to rally our young people so as to turn around the circumstances of our state,” he said.

Ngoforo also assured that in the coming weeks the coalition will unveil its roadmap towards a better Imo state, noting that mass awareness about the debilitating situation in Imo is essential in order to stimulate interest in the electoral process.
