A group, Niger Delta Self Determination Movement (NDSDM) has lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari over statement from the presidency that he will go back to London for extended medical vacation.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the convener of NDSDM, Mrs Annkio Briggs.

Mrs Briggs regretted that some people using President Buhari in a wicked and evil manner, but worse yet is the role of his family, relatives and friends in the mega deceit on Nigerians.

According to her, the recent move to bring Buhari home amidst protests ‘ridicules Nigeria and Nigerians, takes away the right of Buhari to good health and life, and takes away the rights of Nigerians to democracy’.

She reminded that Nigeria must be restructures “to allow the devolution of economic, development, and internal security to devolve back to the federating units (states).

The statement reads in full:

If it is true that the presidency says [President Muhammadu Buhari] is to go back to London, we say it is irresponsible for the president to have come back, the people using PGMB this wickedly are evil, but his family, relatives and friends also don’t love him.

He should have continued with his treatment, the same sentiments that did not allow late President Yar’Adua to concentrate on his health are the same sentiments at play.

It ridicules Nigeria and Nigerians, it takes away the right of PGMB to good health and life, it takes away the rights of Nigerians to democracy.

We continue to stand with the call to restructure Nigeria to allow the devolution of economic, development, and internal security to devolve back to the federating units (states).

We stand with our people (Ethnic Nationalities) of the Niger Delta people who have over the years called at different times from 1958 to 2017 for Liberty, Equity and Justice.

If truly Nigeria stays united it must be based on liberty, equity and justice not on oppression, intimidation, and terrorism.
