A dramatic armed robbery incident has sparked widespread reactions online after a bank customer in Minna, Niger State, reportedly fought back against suspected armed robbers who trailed him after withdrawing a large sum of money from a bank.

The incident, which occurred along Shiroro Road in Minna, has been trending across social media platforms following reports and CCTV footage showing the victim confronting the attackers during the robbery attempt.

How the Robbery Unfolded

According to security sources, the victim had earlier withdrawn about ₦10 million from a bank in Minna before driving away in his Toyota Camry. Unknown to him, suspected armed robbers had been monitoring his movements and trailed him from the bank.

The gang later intercepted him near a restaurant along Shiroro Road, where they reportedly fired gunshots and ordered him to surrender the money.

Viral Social Media Claims

Following the incident, various versions of the story have circulated on social media, with some claiming that the man withdrew ₦20 million and that bullets fired at him could not penetrate his body.

However, available reports from security sources indicate that the victim withdrew about ₦10 million, and there has been no official confirmation that bullets were fired directly at him without effect.

Growing Concern Over Bank-Related Robberies

The incident has once again raised concerns about criminals targeting bank customers immediately after large withdrawals.

Security experts warn that such robberies often occur when criminals monitor bank premises and follow customers believed to be carrying large sums of cash.
