Nigeria has bowed out of AFCON 2017 which will be played in Gabon after losing 0-1 to Egypt.

Super Eagles’ hope of qualifying for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations was dashed after conceding defeat to the Pharaohs of Egypt.

The match which was played in Alexandria ended 1-0 in in favour of the hosts.

The first leg was played in Kaduna, North central Nigeria, and ended 1-1, a match largely blamed on the Eagles’ lack of professionalism.

With this development, Nigeria will miss two Africa Cup of Nations in a row having missed the last one played in 2015.
