Nigerian-born medical doctor Ogbuagbu helped develop Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine

Unknown to many, Nigerian-born researcher and medical doctor, Onyema Ogbuagbu, played a role in the development of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

In a statement by USA Embassy in Nigeria, the US Mission in Nigeria posted on Facebook:

“We commend him, and we are proud to partner with the people of Nigeria to create a safer, more secure world and bring an end to the acute phrase of the pandemic.

The United States through COVAX has donated over 32 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to Nigeria. As of September 2022, close to 39 million Nigerians are fully vaccinated, with more than 77 million COVID-19 vaccine doses administered.
