The boxing event tagged “Oredo Games 2024,” took place over three days at the indoor sports complex of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Edo State has always been a home of sporting talents.

Dr. Tom Obaseki emphasized that the event marks the beginning of a sports revolution in the Oredo local Government Council, aiming to revive sports and promote sports development in society.

He highlighted the significance of sports in community development and mentioned the rich boxing history of Edo State, emphasizing the need to nurture local talent.

The Council Chairman outlined plans for future sports events, including the Futsal games and the World Football League, with a vision of hosting a comprehensive sports event in the future.

He acknowledged the efforts of his team, particularly Ronnie Jacobs, his Special Adviser on internationalization, in making the event a success.

Various dignitaries, including government officials and sports personalities, attended the event and expressed support for the initiative.

The event aims to engage youths in sporting activities, provide opportunities for budding athletes, and promote sports as a viable career option.

Overall, the Oredo Games 2024 represents a commitment to developing sports talents and fostering community involvement in sports.
