Nigerian judiciary is now a department in APC — Melaye

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the just concluded gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Mr Dino Melaye says he has lost confidence in the ability of the Judiciary to adjudicate justice following the outcome of the polls.

Mr Melaye came third in the election that produced Usman Ododo of the APC as the winner after scoring 446,237 votes while the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Muritala Ajaka, came second.

But both Melaye and Ajaka rejected the results, alleging rigging by the APC.

While addressing newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja, Mr Melaye alleged that the Nigerian judiciary is no longer the last hope of the ordinary people, but a department in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

He asked why any responsible person would go to the tribunal when the APC had captured the judiciary.

“Judiciary is no longer the last hope of the ordinary people; it is now a department under the All Progressives Congress.

“Why should any responsible person go to the tribunal when the APC has captured the judiciary?
