(DDM) – Popular Nigerian hip-hop artist Qdot Alagbe has become the latest victim of a violent home invasion after armed robbers reportedly stormed his Lagos residence in the early hours of Sunday.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) notes from sources close to the artiste that the attack happened around 2:30 a.m. at his house located in Ajah, a fast-developing district of Lagos State.
According to eyewitness accounts, Qdot was not alone during the incident. His disc jockey, popularly known as DJ, was also present when the assailants gained entry into the property.
Both men were reportedly assaulted by the intruders before the gang carted away valuables.
Items stolen included mobile phones, laptops, and other personal effects belonging to the artiste.
Sources also disclosed that the attackers forced Qdot to unlock his bank applications, after which significant amounts of money were transferred out of his accounts.
The incident has sparked outrage among fans and industry colleagues, many of whom have taken to social media to express concern for the singer’s safety.
Some described the robbery as another reminder of the growing insecurity in Lagos, a city that has in recent years recorded increasing cases of burglary, kidnapping, and violent attacks against both ordinary citizens and celebrities.
This is not the first time a Nigerian music star has been targeted by criminals. Just a few weeks earlier, fellow artist Lil Kesh was attacked in his Lekki home by unidentified men, raising fresh concerns about the vulnerability of entertainers who often display success and wealth on social media.
Qdot, whose real name is Fakoya Qudus Oluwadamilare, is known for his hit tracks that fuse Yoruba cultural elements with contemporary hip-hop and street sounds.
He has built a loyal fan base across the Southwest and beyond, with songs such as Alagbe and Gbese earning him critical recognition.
Police authorities in Lagos have not yet issued an official statement on the attack, but security experts say the trend highlights the need for stronger protective measures around celebrity homes.
They warn that entertainers remain high-profile targets for criminals due to their visibility, lifestyle, and perceived wealth.
Meanwhile, supporters have continued to send prayers and messages of encouragement to Qdot, urging him to stay strong after the traumatic experience.
The incident has once again underscored the urgent call for improved security infrastructure in Lagos and across Nigeria’s entertainment hubs.
