Nkem Owoh marks 70 Years: Heartfelt wishes pour In

On February 7, 2023, veteran Nollywood actor and comedian Nkem Owoh, famously known as Osuofia, celebrated his 70th birthday.

Moreover, the iconic entertainer shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, thanking his fans and colleagues for their unwavering support.

“Chi Efogo and it is my 70th birthday. What else can I say? To God be all the glory. Special thanks to you all for being part of this journey.

I love you all,” Owoh wrote in his post, which quickly garnered thousands of likes and comments from fans, celebrities, and admirers.

Prominent figures in the entertainment industry joined in celebrating the legendary actor.

Actor Ken Erics commented, “Happy Birthday Sir.

Keep inspiring generations. God bless you.” Actress Uche Elendu added, “Happy Birthday my John Bull… 70 looks amazing on you uncle,” while Fredric Leonard called him an “Icon Living” in his birthday wishes. Fellow actor Chidi Mokeme also extended his warm regards, saying, “Happy Birthday Mpa. Many more celebrations in good health and long life.”

Fans of the beloved actor actively shared their admiration on social media platforms, particularly X, formerly known as Twitter.

Consequently, they expressed heartfelt well-wishes and appreciation for his work and contributions.

Segun Adeniyi, a former Presidential spokesperson, reminisced about Owoh’s influence while serving at the Villa.

He recalled how President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua frequently requested Owoh’s films during trips on the Presidential Jet.

The one and only Nkem Owoh is 70! Happy birthday, Sir!” Adeniyi wrote.

In addition to the outpouring of good wishes, fans celebrated Owoh’s illustrious career by sharing memorable clips from his movies and songs.

Known for his impeccable comedic timing and unique delivery, Owoh has become one of Nollywood’s most beloved figures.

His career spans decades, during which he has starred in numerous hit films and even ventured into music, producing several popular tracks.

Owoh’s accolades are a testament to his talent and dedication to his craft. In 2008, he won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the film Stronger than Pain.

In 2017, he was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the 13th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards.

Born on February 7, 1955, in Udi, Enugu State, Southeastern Nigeria, Nkem Owoh pursued a degree in Engineering at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in Ogun State before embarking on his journey into the entertainment industry.

Over the years, he has become a household name not only in Nigeria but also across Africa and beyond.

As Nkem Owoh celebrates this significant milestone, his fans and colleagues continue to recognize him as a living legend whose work has left an indelible mark on Nollywood and African entertainment as a whole.
