NNPC Moves To Produce Biofuel, Signs MoU With Ondo State Govt

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation [NNPC] has, on Tuesday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ondo State Government for planting of Biofuel plant in the state.
NNPC was, at the signing event, represented by the Group Managing Director [GMD], Dr Maikanti Baru, while the state governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu signed on behalf of the state.
According to NNPC report, the Biofuel plant will use a specie of cassava as the primary raw material.
The report also says that 15,000 hectres of land will be provided by Ondo State for planting.
The Biofuel plant is expected to produce at least, 65 billion litres of ethanol annually, says NNPC GMD Baru.
