NNPC, Norwegian firm sign agreement to build floating gas plant in Nigeria

 

 

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Golar Liquefied Natural Gas Energy (GLNG), a Norwegian company, to build a floating LNG plant in Nigeria.

The national oil company made this known in a tweet on Wednesday night.

NNPC said  its group chief executive officer (GCEO), Mele Kyari and chief executive officer (CEO) of Golar LNG, Karl Fredrick signed the agreement in Abuja.

 

The national oil company said” In furtherance of its efforts to deepen Nigeria’s domestic gas utilisation and enhance gas export, NNPC limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a Norwegian company, Golar LNG (GLNG), to build a floating liquified natural gas (LNG) plant in Nigeria.

“Group CEO of NNPC Limited, mallam Mele Kyari and CEO of Golar LNG, Mr. Karl Fredrik Staubo, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies during a brief ceremony held at the NNPC Towers in Abuja.”
