NOA warns Ekiti tertiary institutions against sharp practices in NELFUND implementation

Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State – April 19, 2025 – The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has strongly warned tertiary institutions in Ekiti State against unethical practices in the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) project. Speaking on the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES) program “E jiire,” Mrs. Funmilayo Oluwakemi Akomolede, the NOA Ekiti State Director, stressed that the Agency will not tolerate actions undermining the fund’s integrity.

Specifically, Akomolede cautioned institutions against colluding with banks to defraud students, delaying fund disbursement, or withholding vital information. She declared, “We will investigate thoroughly, and offenders will face legal consequences.” Furthermore, she praised institutions that have adhered to NELFUND guidelines, urging students to utilize the financial aid.

Additionally, Akomolede condemned the rise in mob violence, warning against extrajudicial killings. She urged security agencies to prosecute perpetrators, stating, “Vigilante justice is unacceptable. The law must prevail.” The NOA remains committed to promoting ethical standards and public safety.
