Norgaard’s late equaliser rescues Brentford in thrilling draw

Christian Norgaard scored a dramatic equaliser in added time, helping Brentford recover from a two-goal deficit against Manchester City.

The match ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw at Gtech Community Stadium.

Phil Foden netted a second-half brace, initially putting the champions in control. However, typical of their inconsistent season, City conceded goals to Yoane Wissa and Norgaard, settling for just one point.

The action intensified after halftime, with both teams pushing for the first goal. Nathan Collins nearly scored with a free header from a corner, while Savinho’s shot rattled the post, keeping the game scoreless.

Shortly after Mikkel Damsgaard’s offside goal, City took the lead in the 66th minute. De Bruyne delivered a curling ball that Foden converted, seemingly securing three points for the visitors.

However, Brentford rallied as Wissa pulled one back with eight minutes remaining, reigniting hopes for the hosts. Ultimately, Norgaard’s late header in the second minute of added time equalized, rewarding his relentless efforts throughout the match.
