North East leadership summit calls for fundamental rights and justice

GOMBE—The North East Leadership Summit took place at Gombe International Hotel on February 27, 2025.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that the event brought together key stakeholders, community leaders, and activists from across the region.

The summit focused on the theme “Fundamental Rights of a Nigerian Citizen.”

Hon. Joseph Enan Maigari, the chairman of the Central Organizing and Planning Committee, delivered the welcoming address.

He emphasized that the summit was not just a discussion but a call for justice and accountability.

For years, the North East has suffered from insecurity, displacement, and economic hardship.

The people of the region have endured insurgency, banditry, and military operations.

Many communities remain under threat, with little government intervention to provide security.
