North West, the daughter of reality television star Kim Kardashian and rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has responded to critics who have described her unconventional fashion style as “demonic,” insisting that her appearance does not reflect any involvement with demons.
The 13-year-old made the remarks during a TikTok Live with her mother, where she addressed online criticism surrounding her bold looks, including her blue hair, black grills and facial jewellery.
“Oh my God, stop saying I’m demonic. No, I’m not. Just because I like to dress this way, don’t judge a book by its cover,” North said during the livestream.
She further distanced herself from the allegations, declaring that she believes in Jesus and has no interest in anything associated with demons.
Kim, who was present during the conversation, suggested that North’s black grills and experimental appearance might be contributing to the criticism she receives online. North, however, questioned why people associate her fashion choices with demonic beliefs.
The conversation also addressed speculation that North’s increasingly unconventional appearance was influenced by the separation of her parents. Kim explained that her daughter’s interest in experimenting with her style began years before the current controversy.
According to Kim, North had been experimenting with fake facial jewellery from an early age, including wearing imitation septum and eyebrow piercings while she was still in preschool.
North also clarified that the facial piercings she displayed were not real, explaining that she frequently changes their positions and styles, which may have led some people to assume they were permanent.
However, the teenager expressed a desire to take her style further by getting an actual cheek piercing. Kim was not enthusiastic about the idea, suggesting that North could continue using adhesive jewellery to achieve the look without undergoing the procedure.
North’s fashion choices have repeatedly generated conversations on social media, particularly because of her age and her preference for unconventional hairstyles, statement accessories and alternative-inspired outfits.
Kim has previously defended her daughter’s right to express herself creatively, explaining that she allows North some freedom in experimenting with fashion while maintaining rules as a parent.
In October 2025, Kim also dismissed criticism of North’s fake facial tattoos and piercings, describing the controversy as a non-issue. She explained that North and her friends enjoy creating different looks and experimenting with costumes and accessories.
North’s latest response has once again brought her personal style into the spotlight, with the teenager making it clear that she does not want people to judge her beliefs based solely on her appearance.
