The President of the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Isah Abubakar, has disassociated the group from the quit notice given to Igbos to leave the north in three months, saying the unity of Nigeria was their concern and responsibility.
Abubakar, who spoke with journalists in Abuja yesterday, said they were not part of the discussion and would never be part of any such discussion that seek to disintegrate the country.
“We know what our region is passing through, a statement like this can scare investors and people that have good intentions to build northern Nigeria. This kind of statement should not be issued out by anybody and it is the responsibility of the government to sincerely arrest and prosecute them,” he said.
