A Northerner and a Muslim from the Shiites stock has asked God to Destroy President Muhammadu Buhari.
Harun Elbinawi, taking to his Twitter handle @ELBINAWI wrote: “Buhari Is Yazeed. God Destroy Him! #NeverToHumiliation.”
He also added: “Every Day Is Ashura & Every Land Is Karbala. “#ZariaMassacre Is Karbala In Africa.”
Yazeed according to the New world Encyclopedia, real name “Yazid bin Muawiyah” (Arabic: يزيد بن معاويه) (c. 645 – 683), was a tyrant.
Also known as “Yazid the Tyrant”, was the sixth caliph of Islam, the second of the Umayyad line; he succeeded his father Muawiyah.
The Encyclopedia continues:
“He died suddenly in 683, after only three years of rule, one of the most divisive and controversial figures in Islamic history.
“He is annually vilified in Shi’a ceremonies. Nor is he any more popular among Sunnis.
“Although most recognize the legitimacy of his caliphate, they also revile him for killing Muhammad’s grandson, for the laxity of his lifestyle, and for his indifference to the values of Islam.”
Elbinawi, no doubt, had in mind the mindless slaughter of about a thousand Shia Muslims by the army under the watch of president Buhari in December 2015.
Their leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky has since then been held in detention despite court orders that he be freed unconditionally.
The court also asked that a N15 million compensation be paid to him as well as other release conditions.
Needless to say, the Buhari-led federal government flagrantly ignored the order and has held him in detention in undisclosed facility.
The Buhari’s government is notorious for disregarding court orders as has been seen in many cases involving IPOB leader, Mr Nnamdi Kanu and former National Security Adviser [NSA], Col. Sambo Dasuki [retd].
