NPA to sanction terminal operators for breaches, nonpayment of fees

There are strong indications that Nigerian Ports Authority may impose sanctions against Private Terminal Operators operating in the Ports owned by NPA.

There are strong indications that the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) may impose sanctions against Private Terminal Operators operating in the Ports owned by NPA.

The looming sanctions are for allegedly violating many terms of Concession Agreements as regards Port Development.

Other offenses are deliberate nonpayment of Cargo Dues and Royalties running into millions of US Dollars to the federal government.

The Managing Director of NPA, Hajiya Hadiza Bala Usman in her interview with News men, confirmed this.

Hajiya Bala Usman also disclosed government intention to review the Ports Concession Agreements, during her tour to Tin can Island Port last week.
