Godwin Obaseki emerges winner of Edo APC guber primary

Mr. Godwin Obaseki has emerged winner of Edo State gubernatorial primary of the All Progressives Congress [APC].

The primary was held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, the state capital.

The APC Edo 2016 governorship primary election committee headed by Governor Masari of Katsina state declared Mr. Obaseki winner of the election.

The election lasted through the night to early hours of Sunday morning.

It was contested by 12 aspirants.

2,873 delegates from 192 wards of Edo state were accredited for the primary election.

Obaseki defeated 11 other candidates, including Pius Odubu, the incumbent deputy governor of the state.
