The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, would be willing to pay either of Peter or Paul of P-Square fame any amount of money to get their endorsement for their presidential bid.
To hire any of these young men for a show, I do not think you will be paying anything less than 100 million Naira, and I am sure any of these other candidates will be ready to cough out that, ten times over just to have any of them perform in their rallies.
But here, Peter Okoye is participating in Peter Obi’s rally in Lagos, not just free of charge, but also spending their own money to cater for his own logistics.
Charly Boy is a big shot in the Nigerian entertainment industry, and I know that Tinubu for one wouldn’t mind paying him at least One Million Dollars to have him in his team.
Charly Boy has been doing his bit for the Peter Obi project without minding what it costs him personally to do so.
Aisha Yesuf has carved a niche for herself in the Nigerian civil society circle. I can go on and on, and there are thousands of such people.
Nigerians who are on hot demand in the political market at this time. But, all of them are in the Peter Obi project, because they want Nigeria to survive.
When I look at my five children, I look at how much I am suffering to raise them, how much I have suffered to get to where I am and the very sad experiences I have every day with the Nigerian political system.
I cannot but understand the patriotism of everyone who has an option to get good pay, but rejected it in order to stand with Peter Obi.
There is no better love any responsible parent can show their children at this time than taking a stand that guarantees a better future for these children.
When I look at Peter Obi, I see a brighter future, even if he doesn’t succeed, I will look at myself and feel satisfied that I did my best to support what is right for Nigeria at this time in her history.
