Uyo: I am afraid
I just arrived the field for the Labour Party rally at Uyo, Awka Ibom state ahead of the Labour candidate and party officials.
The crowd is surging such that it is obvious that before Mr. Peter Obi arrives, I am afraid that the the field of Christmas Village Arena, the venue, will be overflowing.
It is amazing that some of the people at the arena said they came as early as 8am and that they must see “ The symbol of a new Nigerian”, as one of them called him before leaving.
Some said they did not eat out of the enthusiasm to see Obi. Probably hungry, one could see some of them eating from various food stands.
I even saw those selling young/green coconut for its juice. Remembering our Caribbean money squandered, I tested the juice.
Even at the time I spoke with Mazi Odera, he excitedly heard the sound of “Buga” in the background and said wryly: “Val I know that even if everybody dance to “Buga”, you will not.”
Meanwhile, what we are witnessing is a carnival of love for Mr. Peter Obi.
Uyo is really charging !
The arena for the rally is charging as if by some catalytic forces.
The love is just too much!
Uyo: no dull moment
The Uyo rally(carnival) in a feastful wait for the arrival of Mr. Peter Obi, who is meeting with Uyo traditional rulers.
In Uyo, it is crescendo – WATCH VIDEO
As a student of music, we learnt that crescendo is gradually increasing the voice. The ecstasy at Uyo is crescendoing to the soprano, that will be marked by the entrance of the President-in-waiting, Mr. Peter Obi.
Alexander the Great, Achilles, Homer, Aisha and Obi
Alexander the Great on visiting Achilles tomb was reported to have said “O fortunate youth, to have found Homer as the herald of your glory!”
As Mr. Peter Obi entered the rally ground, it was Aisha Yusufu that heralded his entrance by fiery introduction that could be summarized thus: “welcoming the light of Nigeria.”
I can say of him as Alex said of Achilles: “ O fortunate presidential candidate, to have found Aisha as the herald of your coming.”
Listen to Aisha on video.
… and Prof. Utomi spoke like a person possessed.
Prof. Pat Utomi took the stage and gave the entire gathering the afflatus of his fevered eloquence.
He is possessed by the drive to drive out the current order and usher in a new Nigeria as embodied by Peter Obi. Listen to him.
The jewel steps forward.
The best First Lady Nigeria has had and Obi’s wife, Margaret stepping out “dancestically” to add her voice to the crusade for a better Nigeria. Lest you have forgotten, she is a daughter of the soil and remains an epitome of maternal tenderness and kindness.
