The journey to rebirth a new Nigeria began yesterday Friday 8th July, 2022 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja. This memorable event took place as the Labour Party (LP)’s presidential candidate, HE Mr Peter Obi unveiled, to the full glare of all Nigerians and the world, the man who will be partnering with him on the march to a secure, united and productive Nigeria.
We could recall that many citizens, and in particular “OBIdients”, have long been waiting earnestly to see who will be the running mate to the two-term former governor of Anambra State.
His aspiration for the well-being of all Nigerians is to transform the economic policies of the nation’s life from the over dependence on consumption of products to the most desirable production of both edible and non-edible commodities.

In his address, and before presenting his chosen running mate, the man of prudence, many fondly call “Okwute”, revealed that in the coming days, his complete team of competent professionals and technocrats will unveil their governance principles, priorities and programmes with which his anticipated administration will use to turn Nigeria around for the good of every single citizen.
The three Ps of governance, he added, shall be anchored on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.
The man who shall, by the mercy of the Almighty and the making of all Nigerians, become the next president of our country went further to emphasise that these are extremely difficult times for Nigeria.
Okwute stressed that Nigeria straddles development indices, that we are hugely indebted and the poverty capital of the world. While recognizing the glaring facts that Nigerians are hungry and angry; and fed up with bad leadership, he noted that times now do not require politics of business as usual.
The LP presidential candidate went on to emphasise that securing, uniting and making our dear country productive requires steady and trusted hands.
Hence, he is most confident that with Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed by his side as vice presidential candidate, his administration as the next president and vice president of Nigeria shall ensure that no state or community will be left behind in the mandate to move Nigeria forward.
His government, he further noted, will promote the rule of law, ensure an inclusive governance, cost-effective, transformative, less transactional and national investments regeneration pursuant to its statutory responsibility to protect.
