Obiano Invites More Investors, Commissions Golden Tulip Hotels

The Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano has commissioned the 81-rooms Golden Tulip Hotels located within former governor and now the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential running mate, Peter Obi’s Agulu community.

At the brief but impressive ceremony to inaugurate commencement of formal business activities in the hotel yesterday, Obiano noted that with the foundational steps taken by his administration to encourage investors, Anambra State was now very wide open to local, foreign and multinational businesses and investments.

He noted that with its 81 superlative rooms, the facility which sits on a 5.5 hectare premises promises to be a model for hospitality projects in the country.

The governor also revealed that about 218 hotels have sprung up across the state since the inception of his administration, attributing it to the conducive and secure atmosphere his administration has brought to the State.

Chairman of the Board of the hotel, Prof Chukwuma Soludo described the facility as one of the signature projects of the Obiano administration and said its completion was testament to his commitment to the continue, complete and commission all projects he inherited from his predecessor.

A community leader from Agulu, Chief Dan Ogbuefi and an expert in the hospitality industry, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka said the benefits of the project are enormous especially with respect to employment opportunities, revenue generation and tourism prospects it brings to the state.
