Gov Willie Obiano “Akpokue Global” had on Tuesday retrenched 172 staff of Anambra Broadcasting Service [ABS].

Some of them were, on Wednesday, sent to Anambra Secretariat to be screened for membership of Ocha Brigade which was still ongoing as at when we received the news.

They are to enable Ocha Brigade have enough foot soldiers to chase after hawkers, artisans, okada, pure water hawkers , food vendors and very soon pedestrians in the state.

Those sacked include the people that reached the rank of directors and below, all without severance package .

Recall that late last year the governor approved the sum of 789 million naira for the renovation and upgrade of the new ABS.

The contract was given to a lady from Delta without due process or cross bidding as demanded by the law.

Till now nothing can be sighted as the effort of that fund released.

It could also be recalled that same ABS ran a month long broadcast against Chief Joe Martins Uzodike, the former DG of Willie campaign , also former commissioner for information under Peter Obi , saying that he headed a 5 commissioners board that recommended to Gov Peter Obi to retrench some staff of ABS .

We also recalled that Chief Uzodike were sacked because he accepted to work for Jonathan Goodluck campaign as designated by the governor himself .

We all noticed that for the past 6 months that ABS TV are not working and everything about it is in disarray .

Meanwhile the governor promised that by January he will retrench more from abs but those ones won’t be allowed to join Ocha Brigade .

The agony of my state is getting higher and the masses are getting weaker while the elites are getting more silent .
