Obiano Using State Apparatus To Meddle In Internal Affairs —APGA
The National Working Committee [NWC] of the All Progressives Grand Alliance [APGA] has expressed disgust over efforts by the Anambra State governor, Mr Willie Obiano to undermine the activities of the party.
APGA made the statement in a press release issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Onapuruagu Prince Ukaegbu Esq. and made available to Elombah.com
In the statement, Prince Ukaegbu decried the Anambra State government illegitimate use of courts to meddle in internal affairs of party.
Ukaegbu wrote: “The National Working Committee, NWC of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA condemns in the strongest term possible the continued meddling and the ostensible use of the courts by the government of Anambra State to ferment trouble within the party in a bid to prop up the former national chairman, Victor Oye and to encourage his desperate but vain efforts at obviating his sack.
“Smarting from their abortive attempt at inducing and bribing Hon. Justice Onuora of the Enugu High Court, the Anambra State Government in consort with Oye are at this very moment in Nnewi High Court:-
i. a court of concurrent jurisdiction with the Enugu High Court
ii. a court presided over by Governor Willie Obiano’s cousin seeking to counter the Order of Mandamus as contained in the Enugu High Court judgment,
iii. a matter that is now properly before the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division of which Victor Oye had applied to be joined as a party.
“As worrisome as this latest suicide move is and given the desperate and hazy state of mind the perpetrators are in, the NWC of APGA sternly caution both the Chief Judge of Anambra State and government to pull back from the abyss and allow wise counsel to prevail.
“The National Working Committee of APGA further seizes this opportunity to alert the National Judicial Council and security agencies on the activities of these never-do-well individuals and prowlers of the dark in their bid to destroying what remains of the decency in our collective psyche and the judiciary,” the statement concludes.
Recall that the Enugu High Court, in a recent judgment, sacked the former national chairman, Ozo Victor Oye and declared Ochudo Martin Agbaso the authentic national chairman.
