Obiano’s Aides Jittery Over Cabinet Shake-Up Threat

Published

on

There is palpable fear in the cabinet of the governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, as aides run pillar to post trying to save their post.

Sources say that Governor Obiano has threatened to relieve some of his non-performing appointees of their duties.

In a message to mark the first anniversary of his government’s second term in office, Obiano pledged to remove any underperforming aides in his cabinet.

The governor, it was reported, has not been impressed with the output of some of the aides.

According to a report by ElombahNews in 2015, Obiano has almost two thousand aides or various hues and designations.

It is gathered, however, that Obiano’s threat does not emanate out of goodwill for the state.

Rather, the decision is because he can no longer sustain the jumbo pay wasted on the retinue of aides mainly from his hometown of Aguleri.

Since his assumption of office as governor, the state has lost its huge capital running into nearly hundred billion Naira saved by the former governor of the state, Mr. Peter Obi.
