The Obidient Movement has reiterated its commitment to advancing accountability and transparency in governance across Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a communique issued at the end of ‘Good Governance Symposium to Chart a New Course for the Obidient Movement in the South-East’, held at Onitsha Anambra State on Saturday, 09 November 2924.
In the 7-point communique signed by its national coordinator, Dr Tanko Yunusa, the Movement expressed its unwavering resolve to bid farewell to bad governance in Nigeria.
The communique highlighted the following resolutions:
1. Collaboration with Anambra State Support Groups – This partnership facilitated the symposium, aimed at strengthening and repositioning the Movement for greater impact and strategic development.
2. Repositioning the Obidient Movement for Greater Impact – A renewed focus on enhancing the Movement’s influence and reach.
3. Formalization and Restructuring – Under the leadership of Dr. Tanko Yunusa, the Movement is focused on unifying efforts and streamlining its structure for cohesive progress.
4. Reinforcement of Organizational Structure – Aligning the Movement’s mission to promote social and political cohesion, ethical leadership, and purpose-driven advocacy.
5. Harmonization, Restructuring, and Unified Purpose – Committing to a unified mission and strengthening social and political cohesion across the Movement.
6. Ethical Leadership and Diaspora Engagement – Emphasizing the importance of ethical leadership while harnessing the role of the diaspora in reshaping Nigeria’s future.
7. Emerging as a Beacon of Hope – Establishing a foundation for the Movement’s next phase, providing a platform for meaningful dialogue and strategic planning throughout Nigeria.
