Oborevwori Launches ₦39.3 Billion Ughelli Flyover Construction Project

(DDM) – Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has officially flagged off the ₦39.3 billion Ughelli Flyover Project in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.

The announcement was made on Monday, January 12, 2026, marking the commencement of one of the state’s most ambitious infrastructure initiatives aimed at transforming transportation across the region.

According to the governor, the flyover project is designed to ease traffic congestion, improve road safety, and stimulate economic activities by providing a modern and efficient transport route for commuters and businesses.

The construction contract has been awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, a leading construction firm in the country, following the approval of the project by the Delta State Executive Council.

Governor Oborevwori emphasized that the flyover forms part of a broader state infrastructure plan, which includes ongoing upgrades at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout, and Enerhen Junction, all aimed at modernizing the transport network in Delta State.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the governor assured residents that the project would adhere to the highest standards of engineering, safety, and timely completion, ensuring that the flyover becomes a model for future infrastructure development in the state.
