HRM, Oba Mufutau Muhammed Gbadamosi Ajagungbade I Esuwoye II, Olofa of Offa, has extended olive Branch to his counterpart in Erin Ile over recent conflict between Offa and Erin Ile.

The monarch asked that the traditional institutions work to douse tension in both communities towards achieving peace.

Rivalry and fight is endemic between Erin Ile and Offa over traditional differences.

With the recent spark of conflict, the state government has imposed curfew in the affected areas.

But speaking on the development, the Monarch regretted that the matter has become a perennial issue that usually results in loss of lives and destruction of properties from both communities.

“Offa is a peace loving community and I am an advocate of peaceful coexistence irrespective of religion,  ethnicity, or social status.

“This I have displayed in my handling of Farmer/Herders crisis in Offa and environs. I condemn this act of violence and I call on Erin Ile community leaders to also quench this ember of feud from their end as well,” said the monarch through his principal secretary.

He further advised Offa indigenes and citizens to comply with the curfew directives from the Kwara State Government which shall be effective from today 4th of March, 2021 till further notice between the hours of 6 PM and 8 AM.
